A new beginning

Welcome. I've thought for a long time about starting a purely personal blog, having for a number of years written a couple (EuroTelcoblog, which is still active, and Chaotica, which is currently dormant, but shouldn't be) on topics related to my professional focus. Inevitably, there is a personal element to these "work blogs," but the scope of the subject matter has always been limited to suit the audience.

A Memphibian in London is intended to be different, as a purely personal space not constrained by a stated topical focus. I think my motivation to pursue this has been stimulated both by having been through a lot of negative personal shit over the past year, as well as by the recent remarkable Antenna Club Reunion event in Memphis, whence I hail. I couldn't make the Antenna Club love-in, sadly, but it was a big part of my life when I lived there, as was the Memphis music scene generally.

Though I don't intend for this blog to be dedicated to anything in particular, I feel strangely motivated to begin with a series of remembrances of bands that I played with all those years ago, and there were a great many, so I guess I'd better get busy.
